News from the Middle School

Week of Sept. 4

Dear All,

The big event for this upcoming week in middle school is Parents' Night on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. You will begin in the Dent building where you will collect your child's folder and schedule and listen to a brief bit of information and a few announcements regarding the evening. We'll get you to classrooms quickly and you'll spend the rest of the evening with your child's classroom teachers. We will be on the clock by the minute and begin promptly at 6 to hopefully have you out of here by a few minutes before 8. We look forward to seeing you and sharing a bit with you about how your child spends his or her days with us.

It's been a really good week. We had fun dressing down today for our favorite football teams, and I sure hope your team wins this weekend!

Other highlights from this week include:

A lesson and introduction to a method used in data science taught by Dr. Amanda Mangum, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Data Science at Converse

A lesson on braiding taught by a group of experts...Seriously, should see how quickly they make this happen. I want a turn next week.

Lessons on chess taught by each other...

Lessons on beach games without sand where teaching wasn't really needed...

Take good care,

Farrar
