Vision 2022
Securing the Griffin legacy through endowed giving
Spartanburg Day School's endowment is the foundation for long-term financial stability. A gift to the endowment helps enhance educational programming, attract and retain talented teachers and ensure that current and future Griffins will continue to have an unparalleled educational experience here at Spartanburg Day School.
Spartanburg Day School's endowment currently exceeds $30 million.
What is an endowment?
An endowment is a permanent fund. Gifts to the endowment are held in perpetuity with an investment committee providing oversight for good stewardship of all endowment funds. A percentage of the endowment's total market value is made available each year to support ongoing strategic programs at Spartanburg Day School.
Why is the endowment important?
Gifts to the endowment provide stability to the school because they are gifts for a lifetime. Endowment earnings, along with tuition revenue and annual fund gifts, are essential to school operations. A strong endowment keeps tuition affordable for families and reduces reliance on less predictable revenues. A gift to the endowment is an opportunity to pay it forward for future Griffins.
What does a strong endowment look like at Spartanburg Day School?
- The ability to attract and retain only the best teachers
- Innovative classroom teaching practices carried out by passionate, dedicated faculty
- A robust need-based tuition assistance program that allows our school to admit new mission-appropriate students
- Financial sustainability that encourages strategic and sound fiscal planning
Quite simply, Vision 2022 is one of the most important campaigns in the school's history. All of us want to know that when we give it will make a difference in the lives of students. Your pledge to this campaign will make a difference today, tomorrow and for future generations of Griffins who will benefit from extraordinary teachers and outstanding programs.
