News from the Lower School

Week of Sept. 11

Happy Fri-Yay LS Families,

While today we officially launched our theme of "Be Curious" for the entire school as part of the "I'm a Griffin Day" celebration, students have been wholeheartedly embracing that theme all week. I find myself beaming with pride when witnessing the curiosity-driven learning that has been unfolding in our classrooms. Whether it's watching 2nd graders create captivating sketch stories to share with with each other and Upper School students and teachers, seeing 3rd graders delving into the intricate world of shapes and angles in geometry, or 4th graders engaging in thoughtful discussions about significant events like 9/11, our students are not only asking great questions but also actively seeking answers. Their dedication to expanding their knowledge base is commendable and a testament to their innate thirst for learning.

It is through this curiosity that they are not only building their academic skills but also developing a deep understanding of the world around them. We believe that fostering this sense of curiosity is instrumental in nurturing lifelong learners who will continue to ask questions, seek knowledge, and contribute positively to society. We look forward to supporting and encouraging this curiosity-driven journey as our students continue to explore, discover, and learn. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in fostering a love for learning in our students, and we look forward to seeing you tonight at the Back to School Picnic!

With Gratitude,

Jonathan
