With one year in the current strategic plan remaining, school leaders and the Strategic Plan Steering Committee identified key areas of focus for the 2021-22 school year. Each goal falls within and furthers one of the plan's four original priorities – elevate learning and teaching excellence, support faculty quality and engagement, strengthen culture and community, and achieve financial sustainability.
Strategic Plan
For more than 60 years, the mission of Spartanburg Day School has included preparing its students as they plan for the future—for a life well lived. Likewise, it is important for the school itself to periodically embark on an intentional process of planning. A new, three-year strategic plan was presented to the school community in the spring of 2019.
The plan takes a fresh look at SDS’s future and identifies areas to grow and advance. Ahead lies a road of intentionality—making core strengths even stronger and assuring an unparalleled Day School experience for future generations of students.
This yearlong process was an opportunity to closely examine and learn more about the many elements that make a Spartanburg Day School education truly exceptional, and also the challenges ahead – areas worthy of heightened support and attention. It was important to the steering committee that the planning process was collaborative, informed by data, and that the goals now set before us would progress our school confidently into the future. I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together.
