Dear SDS Learning Community,
The first week (albeit short) is in the books! In some ways it is hard to believe that school has started, and in others it feels like we never left. Campus has been a joyful place this week. From pictures with the Griffin to kindergartners escorting their senior buddies at assembly to the rhythm and rhyme of afternoon athletics practice, our students have been happy and bustling.
As many teachers have been laying out the expectations and essential agreements for their classrooms, I sense our kids’ anticipation for deep learning is growing, and their dreams for a successful school year are starting to form. Next week, we really get going, and I hope you share my enthusiasm in seeing how our students rise to the lofty expectations of their teachers and, in fact, exceed them. That’s what the Day School is all about when it comes down to it: meet every child where they are, and challenge them to grow. It’s going to be a fun year to see it happen.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
|
